Learning Outcomes

This webinar aims to provide participants with information concerning the update of AS/NZS 2243.3 and will provide some general information related to the major changes and additions likely to appear.

Webinar is intended to provide:

  3. A brief description of how it relates to other relevant standards
  4. Updates related to microorganisms and associated hazards
  5. Inclusion of a new section on facilities using aquatic microorganisms
  6. Information and guidance when managing liquid waste

  8. A brief summary of other minor changes
  9. Concluding remarks and recommendations to participants

What should you learn?

Participants should gain an understanding of how the new AS/NZS 2243.3 will differ from the 2010 version. This understanding will include some technical supporting information related to the main additions. A detailed analysis of the standard is not included, but sufficient information will be provided such that participants know what to look for when referring to the standard

Neil Walls specialises in bio-containment and bio-contamination engineering.  His experience includes work related to high containment facilities up to PC4 (the highest microbiological containment level), specialist health and containment laboratories as well as facilities for animals, aquatics, plants and invertebrate species.

Neil undertakes peer reviews, supports projects at the strategic planning stage, and provides documentation review and specialist facility inspections. This work, in conjunction with running training workshops, is aimed at passing on knowledge and improving expertise amongst our various management, design and construction organisations.
