2025 ABSANZ International Scholarship

The ABSANZ International Scholarship provides an exciting opportunity for professionals residing outside of Australia and New Zealand who work in the fields of Biosafety, Biocontainment, or Biorisk Management to attend the 2025 ABSANZ Annual Conference. Please see below further details of the scholarship, including eligibility, inclusions, exclusions, and cancellation policies:

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Reside outside of Australia and New Zealand
  • Complete the application form.
  • Submit the application by the due date.

Please note, scholarships are limited, and submitting an application does not guarantee that you will be awarded a scholarship.

Scholarship Inclusions:

The scholarship covers:

  • Full Registration for the 2025 ABSANZ Annual Conference, which includes:
    • Welcome Reception
    • Conference Dinner
    • Networking Events
  • Workshop and Tours associated with the conference.
  • Up to 7 nights accommodation at the IBIS Hotel, Sydney Olympic Park.

Scholarship Exclusions:

The scholarship does not cover:

  • Flights or other associated travel costs (including visas, if required).
  • Any honorariums or per diems.

Cancellation Policy:

  • If you are unable to accept the scholarship or cannot attend the conference, ABSANZ must be notified immediately.
  • The ABSANZ Board will attempt to offer the scholarship to an alternative applicant if there is time before the conference.
  • No monetary compensation will be provided if the scholarship is not accepted or used.
  • The scholarship cannot be carried over to future years.

Application and Selection Process:

  • Applications are open and will close Friday 9th of May 2025, 5pm (AEST).
  • Scholarships are limited, so submitting an application is important, but not a guarantee of receiving the scholarship.
  • Each applicant must submit the ABSANZ International Scholarship Form, located at bottom of page.

2025 ABSANZ Conference Abstract

  • All scholarship submissions will undergo a peer-review process conducted by the ABSANZ subcommittees, the ABSANZ Board making the final decision. Each abstract will be evaluated based on its relevance to the conference theme and adherence to the submission guidelines. Once the review process is complete, you will be notified of the outcome by the end of May 2025.
